Ester's Korean Won Tons

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion finely diced
  • 1/4 cabbage (about 3 cups) finely chopped
  • 1 Tbs minced garlic
  • 1 can bean sprouts drained and water squeezed out
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup green onions
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 Tbs soy sauce
  • 1 package dumpling skins

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix well.
  2. place a wonton shin in the palm of your hand.
  3. Brush the edges of the skin with water.
  4. Place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the middle.  Do not over stuff.
  5. Fold the skin diagonally in half over the meat mixture and press the edges together firmly to seal.
  6. Repeat with the remaining wonton skins.
  7. Fill deep fryer with oil to fill line.
  8. Set temperature to 350 degrees.
  9. Cook stuffed wontons 4 at a time for 5 minutes turning frequently.
