Mom's Magic Soup

Ingredients

  • chicken broth
  • plenty of minced garlic
  • black pepper
  • chopped jalapeno or chili powder
  • lots of dried oregano ( Mexican oregano is preferred )
  • finely diced chicken ( Optional )
  • one or two veggies that you enjoy ( Example: frozen peas & carrots )
  • Chinese egg noodles or spaghetti noodles broken into small pieces

Directions

  1. Add 8 cups chicken broth to a pan and bring to medium boil.
  2. Add desired amount of noodles.  Add a lot if you feel like a  lot, or add a little if you prefer a more brothy soup. 
  3. Boil for approximately 10 minutes.
  4. Stir in garlic, oregano, black pepper, peppers, veggies, and chopped chicken.
  5. Bring the soup back to a slow boil. Remove from heat.  If you are using raw chicken allow to cook until chicken is completely cooked.
  6. Serve and eat as much as you want as often as you want until you are well!

Notes:

  1. If using the powdered form of chicken broth, the as a rule of thumb add 2 Tbs per 4 cups of water.
  2. Chinese egg noodles and spaghetti was mentioned, but any carb will do such as; Noodles, Rice, or Potatoes.
  3. Not everyone likes peas so add whatever veggies sound good to you and you have available at the time.  It doesn’t matter if it is frozen or canned.
  4. FEEL BETTER!
