Katey's Bird Plop Pie
Ingredients
- 24.5 oz of fruit : fresh, frozen, or jarred
- 1/2 cup water or juice
- 1 package of dry cake mix any flavor
- 1 stick butter sliced as thin as you can
Topping Suggestions
- Brown Sugar ( 1/2 cup or less)
- Oatmeal
- Cereal
- Cinnamon
- Pumpkin pie spice
- Chocolate Chips
- Shredded Coconut
- Crumbled Graham Crackers
- Finely chopped nuts ( 1/2 to 1 cup )
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Place fruit and water / juice as needed into a 13 x 9 inch dish.
- Spread dry cake mix evenly over the fruit.
- Evenly distribute sliced butter pats in a single layer over the cake mix.
- Mix together your toppings of choice and spread evenly over the top.
- Bake for 40 minutes.
- Tasty warm or cold.
- Refrigerate leftovers.
Katey’s Notes:
- I don’t measure the fruit I just fill whatever dish I am using about half full with fruit.
- The fruit moisture is important, so if you are using a low moisture fruit, then add a little water or juice ( about 1/2 cup) to bring the moisture level up.

- I think the Shredded Coconut would be really good but I haven’t tried it cuz Kevin doesn’t like it.
- I really like to use pecans because of their buttery flavor, but any will do.
