Mississippi Mud
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1 cup walnuts
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 16 oz cool whip
- 3.9 oz package chocolate pudding
- 3.9 oz package vanilla pudding
- 3 cups milk
- 1 milk chocolate Hersey bar
Directions
Crust
- Cream together flour and softened butter.
- Add walnuts
- Press into pan.
- Bake at 325 degrees for 25 minutes.
- Allow to cool.
Filling
- Cream powdered sugar and cream cheese together.
- Spread evenly over crust.
- Add 1 1/2 cups milk to vanilla pudding mix and whisk until smooth.
- Add 1 1/2 cups milk to chocolate pudding mix and whisk until smooth.
- Spread vanilla pudding over cream cheese layer.
- Spread chocolate pudding over vanilla pudding layer.
- Cover the chocolate pudding layer with cool whip.
- Shave chocolate bar over the top of cool whip layer.
Notes:
- I always double the recipe and use a 9 x 13 dish.
- You can add 1/2 the cool whip to the cream cheese for a lighter layer.
