Mississippi Mud

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 16 oz cool whip
  • 3.9 oz package chocolate pudding
  • 3.9 oz package vanilla pudding
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 milk chocolate Hersey bar

Directions

Crust

  1. Cream together flour and softened butter.
  2. Add walnuts
  3. Press into pan.
  4. Bake at 325 degrees for 25 minutes.
  5. Allow to cool.

Filling

  1. Cream powdered sugar and cream cheese together.
  2. Spread evenly over crust.
  3. Add 1 1/2 cups milk to vanilla pudding mix and whisk  until smooth.
  4. Add 1 1/2 cups milk to chocolate pudding mix and whisk  until smooth.
  5. Spread vanilla pudding over cream cheese layer.
  6. Spread chocolate pudding over vanilla pudding layer.
  7. Cover the chocolate pudding layer with cool whip.
  8. Shave chocolate bar over the top of cool whip layer.

Notes:

  1. I always double the recipe and use a 9 x 13 dish.
  2. You can add 1/2 the cool whip to the cream cheese for a lighter layer.
