Granny's Pineapple Upside-Down Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • maraschino cherries
  • pineapple slices 
Directions
  1. Melt about a half stick of butter or margarine and pour into the bottom of cake pan.
  2. Sprinkle brown sugar over the melted butter.
  3. Stir brown sugar into the melted butter until well mixed and mixture covers the bottom of cakepan.
  4. Place pineapple slices in pan all around the edges and in the center.
  5. Place a cherry in the center of each of the pineapple slices.
  6. Mix cake mixas directed on the package and then pour over pineapple slices.
  7. Bake for 35 – 40 minutes at 350 degrees or until cake is done.
  8. Let cool slightly and then invert cake pan onto serving dish.
